Here's the Narada Radio Company's fourth and final Sonic Summerstock Playhouse offering for 2020 -- out of sequence but it's such a wonderful piece, we couldn't wait. East of the Sun, West of the Moon is a beautiful Norwegian folk tale interpreted by Louis MacNiece for BBC Radio and originally broadcast in 1959. There was no recording available for us to take inspiration from, so we did everything based on the script's dialogue and sound/music cues. A truly lovely, dreamy audio production that we hope you will enjoy. Angel Leigh McCoy as Helga Karim C. Kronfli as Father and the North Wind’s Groom Rachel Pulliam as Halvor and Longnose Julia Eve as Mother and the Female Troll Gareth Severn as the Prince and the Bear Alex Moore as the Three Crones Pete Lutz as the East Wind, the Parrot, and the Male Troll Julie Hoverson as the West Wind and the Stepmother Dana Gonsalves as the South Wind and the Prisoner Nick Wommack as the North Wind Additional voices by Alex Moore and Pete Lutz Music composed and performed/sung by Dr. Ross Bernhardt Produced & Directed by Pete Lutz |

PG-13 - THIS PROGRAM CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE "Do you dare to go down into...THE CELLAR?" Welcome to Episode One of 63audio's all-new horror/suspense anthology series! Our stories are either original, or inspired by, or adapted from pulp fiction and classic literature. Season One of THE CELLAR already has 15 episodes written and cast, with more to come. Expect eerie or suspenseful tales from authors such as Ray Bradbury, Paul Witcover, August Derleth, Henry Kuttner and Robert E. Howard! Not only these, but you can expect an audio adaptation of a Eugene O'Neill play, AND Pete Lutz's own adaptation of a Lon Chaney-starred silent film. The possibilities are endless, the thrills are non-stop, and the stories are the best ones possible we could find. Our first one is an original tale by our director, inspired by an episode of Arch Oboler's "Lights Out" (but he can't remember which one). George McDingle is a guy who's been under the thumb of the world his entire life. But one morning he awakens with a massive headache...and a strange new power. Will he use it for good...or evil? Listen and find out! Our hostess with the mostest, Cadavera Quivry, will be on hand for every installment, introducing the show and opening her big book of weird stories just for you! WELCOME TO THE PILOT EPISODE OF A VERY SPECIAL SERIES... "Adventures of the Federated Tec"! A series of 8 initial episodes of 7 dramatized stories featuring Dashiell Hammett's nameless detective. We call him the Federated Tec ("Tec" being short for detective), but you probably know him as something else. We've chosen Hammett's first few stories that have moved into the public domain, and have done our best to stay true to the originals -- and why not? The originals are just fine, as far as we're concerned. We proudly present episode one, "Arson Plus", Hammett's first published story, from 1923. We hope you enjoy it and will join us for future episodes. In his first adventure, the Tec is called out to Sacramento County to help the Sheriff's Dept. with a strange arson case -- one that involves the death of a man who made a deep impression on everyone he met -- but whom nobody seemed to truly know. An exciting first outing for our unnamed detective! ADVENTURES OF THE FEDERATED TEC WAS CONCEIVED BY PETE LUTZ AND DEVELOPED BY PETE LUTZ AND MARK SLADE. "Arson Plus" was dramatized, directed and produced by Pete Lutz. Mixing and post-production was by Daniel French of Fishbonius Sound Design. THE MAN WITH NO FACE, originally released in April 2020 on the Mutual Audio Network, is an adaptation by Pete Lutz of a short story by G. M. Benson, originally published in the 1920s. This tale of psychic phenomenon has been brought into the present day, and has suffered not a bit, we believe, by its slight modernization. THE BIRD AND THE SNAKE, adapted by Pete Lutz from a story by Clem Hanlon. NARADA RADIO COMPANY RATED R. The Series Finale of Pulp-Pourri Theatre, "The Bird and the Snake" comes from a 1959 issue of Adam Magazine, a slick "girlie-mag", so not technically a pulp story, yet Clem Hanlon's tale of a Polish-American cop in Chi-town really smacks of the pulp style. I'm proud of this final series episode, and feel that with it, we sent Pulp-Pourri Theatre out with a real bang, and not a whimper. I hope you feel the same after hearing it. Our theme, and transitional music, was specially composed for this episode by Katharine Seaton. I absolutely love what she did here.
