The Mutual Stage returns with another exciting play, hosted by Jack Ward and starring the Narada Radio Company. This time, we present "A Cold Night's Death", adapted from a 1973 ABC-TV Movie of the Week and directed by Pete Lutz. PROJECT AUDION #40: I Was a Communist for the FBI
(Orig. rel. 3/10/23) What's black and white and Red all over? “I was a Communist for the FBI”, that’s what - the Cold-War era radio thriller that purported to tell the real-life story of Matt Cvetic, who posed as a member of the Communist Party while actually spying for the FBI. Whether true or fantastic, these half hour “radio noir” dramas put forward the fears which the Red Menace held for mid-century America. Most episodes of this taut melodrama can be heard today, but a handful of episodes are lost, and Project Audion’s March show is one of them. The script to “Citizens of Nowhere” was pulled from archives in New York and is performed by our nationwide cast for the first time in 70 years.

PROJECT AUDION #30, Season 3 Premiere!
Out of more than 900 episodes that the classic radio thriller Suspense produced between 1942 and 1962, there are 13 shows that are missing, and OTR researchers have tried for years to track them down. One of the missing 13 is "The Eavesdropper," which aired just once - January 3, 1956. No recording has ever been found. Thanks to Suspense historian Dr. Joe Webb, Project Audion is able to recreate "The Eavesdropper" so you can hear it for the first time in more than 65 years - a story of a high-rise murder plot that was discovered and which leads to a double execution.
Our transcribed-live recreation features a cast that reaches from Hollywood, California to Toronto, Canada. Watch and listen as we hope to keep you in...Suspense!

THE BIRD AND THE SNAKE, adapted by Pete Lutz from a story by Clem Hanlon. NARADA RADIO COMPANY
RATED R. The Series Finale of Pulp-Pourri Theatre, "The Bird and the Snake" comes from a 1959 issue of Adam Magazine, a slick "girlie-mag", so not technically a pulp story, yet Clem Hanlon's tale of a Polish-American cop in Chi-town really smacks of the pulp style. I'm proud of this final series episode, and feel that with it, we sent Pulp-Pourri Theatre out with a real bang, and not a whimper. I hope you feel the same after hearing it.
Our theme, and transitional music, was specially composed for this episode by Katharine Seaton. I absolutely love what she did here.

Part Thriller, part Sci-Fi, part Soap Opera, part Comedy, Claybourne was the most sonically ambitious radio drama production ever to hit New Zealand's airwaves.
