This supernatural Western series, written by Craig Robotham, had its first four episodes released on Moonlight back in 2023. For some reason we failed to post episode 5, the conclusion of the story, but we're happy to do that now. We ask you to search the site by title to find and listen to the first four, if you haven't heard them already. In the exciting finale, Sheriff Jim Wilkes and his deputy Abe Farrow return to Liberty Gulch to be overrun by undead townsfolk. Jim awakens to find himself in quite a predicament.

Peter Lorre is an actor with such a distinctive voice and presence that even now, 60 years after his death, he's still instantly identifiable. It's surprising he didn't do more radio dramas, but he did host and star in "Mystery In The Air" in 1947. As a summer replacement show, there were only 17 episodes, and only 8 or so recordings exist -- so Project Audion asked Pete Lutz to create a NEW Mystery in the Air script. The result is both light-hearted and supernaturally spooky, and thanks to our transcontinental cast of talented voice actors, sounds just like an unheard episode from this terrific vintage series:

Sonny and Will, long-haul truckers who share driving duties, are down on their luck as usual. A stranger offers them a considerable amount of money to carry a strange parcel cross-country, with the usual unforeseen consequences. Tierney’s Tales of Terror Writing Competition
Deadline: May 19th 2022, 11pm CST.
Requirements: Theme: The Supernatural (This CAN take place in the future provided our current, modern day isn’t mentioned; i.e., the internet, politics, etc. A good example is to look at the original Twilight Zone and take inspiration from there.)
Rules:
- Original audio plays only. (No audio plays including literary characters, i.e., Frankenstein, Dracula, etc.)
- Your script must be free of visual cues.
- Approximately 25-30 minutes (20-30 pages) in length (OR two 15 minute plays as 1 double-feature)
- Horror genre
- Family Friendly (no cursing, no sexually explicit themes, etc. This is because the original audio play, "A Tale of Tierney" didn't have any of that stuff and I'd like to keep it that way.
All winners will be notified one week after the contest is over.
Opportunity: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place scripts will be fully produced and distributed at several different sites, including two very prominent audio drama sites: Mutual Audio Network and Moonlight Audio Theatre.
