STAGE FRIGHT 2014 (HORROR/THRILLER) MATURE CONTENT For the third year running The Wireless Theatre Company hosted STAGE FRIGHT to launch the fabulous London Horror Festival. Three plays short listed and performed live to special guest judge Seth Patrick.

First up is the audio play, Special Delivery by Elizabeth Adlington, which focuses on a couple following the delivery of a rather unusual teddy bear. Next is, Tears From The Pillow by Gabrielle Wright, a touching yet spine-chilling tale about a man in a coma (we daren’t reveal any more).

Finally, Pete Barrett’s Forever Amber tells the story of a cantankerous lord with a passion for taxidermy.

The award went to Pete Barrett’s FOREVER AMBER.

RIP – PART 2 (HORROR) MATURE THEMES Once again, we follow the bloody trail of Jack the Ripper and his victims as pub patron Old Jim weaves a grisly tale of London's Victorian Whitechapel and hints at an evil that may still lurk amongst the shadows of the East End.  Campfire Radio Theater

THE WOMAN ON THE BRIDGE (HORROR) Chatsworth House during the Second World War. The Devonshire family make way for an evacuated girls’ school, the grand interiors converted to dormitories and classrooms. Pupils Ceri and Gwyneth explore these new surroundings and their history, above and below stairs. But a ghost story about a screaming woman on the bridge in the grounds seems disturbingly true, and all the more disturbing for the parallels it presents with the secret love affair they discover their charismatic teacher Miss Cairns is involved in….

The Woman On The Bridge was recorded before a live audience of over 150 people at The Palace Hotel as part of The Buxton Festival and was nominated for a Buxton Fringe Theatre Award.

BLOOD AND STONE (HORROR) MATURE AUDIENCES Based on the true story of Countess Elizabeth Bathory, perhaps one of the greatest mass murderers of all time. She was a woman who tortured and killed over 600 young women for their blood.

Too noble to be executed, in 1610 the ‘Bloody Lady of Cachtice’ was bricked up in a set of rooms in her own castle in Slovakia. Why then should the young and beautiful Katya be at the castle door attracting the close attention of the gaoler and wanting a job looking after Countess? Is it revenge or some more ghostly visit from Bathory’s past? And if she should help her escape.

A ghost story set on the wild Atlantic coast of North Devon, told through the eyes of Jenny, a girl of nearly nineteen, whose recently deceased grandmother, Mary, has bequeathed her ‘Windover,’ the cottage where she is staying with her father and his girlfriend during the summer vacation.

Before long Jenny starts to be troubled by visions of two teenage girls, and learns, from a photograph taken in 1934, that these girls are her grandmother, Mary and her friend Cathy. As the days go by and Jenny  becomes increasingly disturbed by the visions, she befriends Stephen, a neighbouring farmer and tries to enlist his help in making sense of what’s happening to her. Stephen, however, is evasive and little by little Jenny finds herself drawn into the tragic events that occurred nearly eighty years earlier.
